Lateral vs Rehearsal

Rehearsal and Lateral both put reps in the role-play, but the practice itself works differently. On Rehearsal you record a video answering a scenario, on your own time, then it goes to peers, a mentor, or AI for review. That asynchronous loop is the heart of the product, and it's a proven way to coach soft skills, demos, and messaging at scale.

Lateral is a live, two-way voice call. The AI buyer talks back in real time, interrupts, objects, and follows your lead, so you're handling the back-and-forth, not delivering a monologue for someone to grade later. Rehearsal's scenarios are as good as the prompts a team writes, and a well-built scenario library is genuinely useful for standardizing a motion. Lateral takes a different route: it pulls from your real product and the deals on your calendar, so the buyer pushes back on the things your actual prospects push back on.

Rehearsal's review loop is one of its strengths: a mentor or peer watches your recording and leaves coaching, and its AI can score submissions too.
